A Broad and Balanced Curriculum

"Teachers enthuse their pupils and help them gain a love of learning through their effective teaching."

"Teachers have high expectations, to which pupils respond positively"

"Pupils are enthusiastic learners."(Ofsted 2014)

Here at The White House School we pride ourselves on offering a broad, balanced and rich curriculum. Maths, English (including Drama), Science, Computing, History, Geography, Music, Art,  Foreign Languages, PE and RE are taught each week.  Design & Technology and Citizenship are taught on a rotating basis.

Every year group has its own class teacher responsible for the welfare of each child in the class. Maths and English are taught every morning by class teachers in their form rooms. Occasionally Science or ICT may be taught in the morning, but the displaced Maths and English lessons are then transposed to the afternoon.  To ensure that the children have the best professional expertise and to promote high expectation, subject teaching by specialist teachers is employed in the afternoon classes and in clubs.

"Pupils benefit from being taught by a range of specialist subject teachers during the week." (Ofsted 2014)
